Top 27 New Comic Books of 2015 #13-18 (Count Up) SPOILERS!

A lot of amazing comic books came out in the year of 2015 these are the ones I liked the best. They might not have been the most trend setting or highest rated, but these comics are what I enjoyed reading over the thousands I went through this year. I’m counting up to 27 this time because that’s my favorite number and honestly ten isn’t enough.

13. The Vision by Tom King and Gabriel Hernandez Walta

“Don’t tell your father.”

  • 8.7/10
  • Published by Marvel Comics
  • Suggested for Pre-Teens and Up
  • Ongoing
  • Genre: Superhero, Drama
  • Best Issue- #1: Visions of the Future
  • Favorite Character- Vision- watching him dealing with everyday family problems, a long with superhero stuff, is amusing and relatable all in one.
  • The Vision creates his own family and decides to live a normal life. That doesn’t work out to well because synthezoids are anything, but normal. Also this art is just so wholesome yet gritty it’s just completely right for this series.

14. S.H.I.E.L.D. by Mark Waid and Carlos Pacheco

“Omega level override isn’t a battle cry Heimdall. It’s code for distract the enemy.”

  • 8.8/10
  • Published by Marvel Comics
  • Suggested for Pre-Teens and Up
  • Ongoing
  • Genre: Superhero, Mystery, Crime
  • Best Issue- #1:
  • Favorite Character- Phil Coulson, though this isn’t his first comic appearance it is his first with his the rest of his pals from the SHEILD TV show.
  • This is the ABC show in the marvel comic universe and I love it. Anyone else who enjoys the show should give it a shot.

15. Kaijumax by Zander Cannon

“You’re the Monsters!!”

  • 8.9/10
  • Published by Oni Press
  • Suggested for Teens and Up
  • Ongoing
  • Genre: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Dramady
  • Best Issue- #2: Ten Thousand Years to Life
  • Favorite Character- Mecha Zonn, leader of the Mecha cult gang, all hail the cloud.
  • Giant Japanese monsters in a prison drama! I don’t know why, but it’s beautiful.

16. Omega Men by Tom King and Barnaby Bagenda

” We’re all Omega Men now.”

  • 9/10
  • Published by DC Comics
  • Suggested for Teens and Up
  • Ongoing (For now, this great series might be cancelled due to lack of readers.)
  • Genre: Space Opera
  • Best Issue- #3
  • Favorite Character- Kyle Rayner, prisoner of the Omega Men. Doesn’t have his lantern ring and doesn’t know who the good guys are. Also they focus on the artist side of things.
  • The DC Sci-Fi stories are highly underrated and amazing characters like Tigorr and Block are forgotten behind Superman and Green Lantern. This series has so many twists and turns that I can’t even figure out where it’s going. I’m also happy that they got Kyle right. He’s not just a hero, a space cop, or an all powerful white lantern. He’s an artist.

17. Dark Knight III: Master by Frank Miller, Brian Azzarello, Andy Kubert and  various.

“Where is Bruce Wayne…? Bruce Wayne is dead.”

  • 9.3/10
  • Published by DC Comics
  • Mature
  • Ongoing
  • Best Issue- #1
  • Favorite Character- Carrie Kelly, I love seeing this iconic character again.
  • The third arch of Frank Miller’s Dark Knight series. Just read it please.

18. Archie by Mark Waid and Fiona Staples and Annie Wu

“Welcom to Riverdale.”

  • 9.5/ 10
  • Published by Archie Comics
  • Suggested for Pre-Teens and Up
  • Ongoing
  • Best Issue- #1
  • Favorite Character- Jughead, that food loving, crown wearing genius that’s to cool for… Well everything.
  • This is the reboot of Archie. You know Archie, that series about a kid in high school. Does that clear it up for you? Well I grew up reading Archie magazines and this is the same lovable teen in a new and modern perspective that still keeps true to the original series.
